- Honey and Other Bee Products and Healthy Living Info Platform (2011-2012) Coordinator and Director: Aslı Elif Tanuğur Samancı Funded By: Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) Awards: Presented in the stories of the most successfull projects funded by ISTKA Objectives: This project was funded by ISTKA by 80% of its estimated budget. The project director managed fruitful communication with a total of 17 non-profitable partners. The project activities were as follows; carrying out scientific research on bee products by three different universities, preparing and publishing four books relevant to the bee products, apiculture, and honey plants around Istanbul, making one documentary video about life of bees in Istanbul and broadcasting it on many TV channels, and organizing one sympossium and three training activities on bee products and apiculture. The success of the outcomes of project grabbed wide attention of newspapers, television channels, and many internet-based blogs. The dissemination activities also included presentation of outcomes of the project in various international and national congresses and symposia.

The objective of the project was to develop an IT equipment to remotely monitor the beehives anywhere through the contribution of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty of Istanbul Technical University.
- Developing processing methods to make propolis fit for human consumption by classifying according to its sensory, biological, and chemical properties (2013-2015) Coordinator and Director: Aslı Elif Tanuğur Samancı Funded By: Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration, Republic of Turkey (KOSGEB) Outcomes: This project was funded by KOSGEB by 80% of its estimated budget. The major outcome of this project was to produce and sell Turkish propolis, the first time in Turkey, and to create a new market for a local product which was mostly exported from China.
- Developing food products as mixtures of honey:Natural and Functional Spreads (2014-2016) Coordinator and Director: Aslı Elif Tanuğur Samancı Funded By: The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) & Technology and Innovation Funding Programmes Directorate (TEYDEB) Outcomes: The major outcome of this project was to develop honey spreads with nuts and propolis and no sugar, fat, preservative or additive. Awards: Two products generated by the activities of the project have been awarded for their quality. • “Cacao-Hazelnut-Raw Honey-Propolis” product has been granted a gold medal in new product category of the SOFI Awards in the USA. • “Pistachio nut-Chickpeas-Raw Honey-Propolis” product has been granted Apimondia Gold Medal award by the International Federation of Beekeepers' Associations (APIMONDIA).
